The Gulf Coast of Florida often feels like another planet. The plant life, and wild life, and the human life all don't really seem connected to the rest of the east coast. The sunsets are the best I've ever seen. The stars aren't as bright as rural NC, but easy to get to, floating in the middle of the bay, on a boat for example. The lizards, frogs, birds, manatees, dolphins, sharks, rays, turtles, and even raccoons out number people 500 to one. I've decided that palm trees are my favorite tree. If their beauty isn't enough, the sound their prawns make when a sea breeze comes by is nothing less than sound therapy. As thin a fragile as they look, then bend and sway in the slightest breeze in their graceful way.
